Each State should have one STDC. In larger states having population more than 5 Crores, there may be supported by additional Regional Training and Program Monitoring Centres that may be governed by the single STDC at the state.
For administrative convenience, effective coordination and sharing of responsibilities with the State TB Cell (STC), the STDC should preferably be located along with STC in the State capital.
